Thanks for this video! I was able to get the new buttons out of the backplate no problem using the screwdriver trick. To get the buttons to attach I put clear silicone caulking on the back of the button. Next press it securely onto the climate control unit, then let the caulking dry for 30 minutes (driving might vibrate the buttons off).

How long was it on the car in time? What temps did it see do you suppose? Was there any ceramic on the paint?

It looks like "2mm thick pad" is the "replace" point if I'm reading that right. How thick is new? And how do you measure the rotor?

I fucking hate plastic. This stupid piece of shit unit made me question my car enthusiasm and what comes with it. If I wouldn't have found this vid and taken it apart 5 more times without a good result I would realyl consider selling the car.

Great video and lovely S2 and E46 M3! The total amount of oil (without draining VANOS, etc.) should be 6.5L and from the bottom of the dipstick to the top marker should equate to 1L, not 1 quart.

I agree with the difference to Jersey Traffic, i lived there for 3 Years , now back in Germany nit far away from where your car was build 😇 What are your mods on it exactly again , would be interesting for me to know ! there is a way to make it not messy. Break the seal on the oil filter housing and then go drain from below. By time you do all that, the oil will be 95% stopped dripping and you can remove the filter element without making a mess.

This also applies to G01, but please note that the top lock size might be different (16mm for G01, 19mm for the other ones I believe). Please triple check lock type & size of the wiper before you order online.

I have a 2004 BMW X5 3.0 I just change the transfer case oil because it was leaking from the drain plug. do I have to reset it on a computer?

What size winter tires did you get for the rear?

I just did this repair while replacing the door handle carrier. To install the clip, push the glass slightly away from the lifter arm and just slide in the clip. Use a small needle nose pliers to slide in the clip prongs through the glass hole (the glass sits on the second grove), then insert the metal bushing from the back side of the glass. You can now insert the screw and snug it in - do not apply too much force! I also found one of the screws of the window lifter arms loose and tightened up all of them. Door now closes like new!
